After finishing what little was left of my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, and being quite pleased with it this time around, it seemed natural to move onto my Soap and Glory Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser that many would consider a dupe, and rightfully so.
When comparing the two, the only obvious difference I notice is that the Liz Earle cleanser might be a tad thicker in consistency. Apart from that they are really similar cleansers that give me very similar results. The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser is a cleanser in its own right though, so my comparison to the Liz Earle version will end here.
The product itself is white and has a thick and white creamy consistency. It's quite light and spreads really easily across the skin. I like to very slightly dampen my skin by dotting just a few drops of water across it prior to cleansing. This way the cleanser doesn't tug at my skin. Not that that would be much of a problem with this particular one though as the consistency is so light.
I rub this onto an already clean face (I remove my makeup prior to cleansing with Bioderma for the face makeup and whatever eye makeup remover I'm using at the moment) and gently massage it into the skin. I then finish off by splashing my face with some lukewarm to slightly cold water, depending on how i feel, and then gently dab my face dry with a cloth.
The cleanser leaves my skin feeling clean, but not stripped. This is quite different to how the foaming cleansers I would use before left my skin, and it has made a massive difference in a very short amount of time. I noticed an improvement almost immediately and as time went on my skin has only kept on improving. I have very minimal to no breakouts, my skin feels less dry, skin is visibly more healthy, "plump" and radiant and skintone is more even. Now, I take very good care of my skin and are using a lot of other very good products besides this that are contributing as well, but I'd still say the use of a non-foaming cleanser, and perhaps this particular one, has made a huge difference all on it's own.
I caved to the hype and purchased the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm and am very excited to use it after this one runs out. Only then can I really know for sure if this one is really special, or if my skin is mostly loving the non-foaming part. One thing is for sure though, no matter how this compares to other non-foaming cleansers, it is a really good one. I would recommend this really really highly to absolutely everyone with any skintype and unless the Emma Hardie cleanser is 10x as amazing as this one, I see myself sticking to the Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser for quite a while!
