a daily outfit! well not the most smashing of photos but i thought what the hey...i've gotta share a late 1950's chevron dress in the yummiest of mocha colors...you see it is very very hard to find a 50's brown dress...the 50's were full of color so to find a yummy late' dream...was a win...only my second in all my years of collecting...after the war and the sadness,the 1950's looked 2 be a era of hope... a bubble gum happy of sort...many dress makers wanted cheery, happy, and lots of fruity color...so to snatch this dress was a vintage gals find!this sweet find is called a chevron dress...well because it is in a chevron style...like the patches on a military uniform...yep that is why...they thought it to be very flattering in that time...this lil' number has a metal side zipper and hidden pockets...very important when searching for a 50's dress...no plastic zippers!
i love the yummy mocha colors...with the sweetest mossy green...the plastic bakelite bangles were a sweet valentines gift a few years ago from daddy-o...found in an antique shop...he paid way too much but i'm glad he did...they were purrrrrrfect for this dress! funny i didn't even have the dress yet...shows you just gotta collect right sassy kittens ?
next the shoes...ummmm love them...they are one of my favorite pairs... honey- brown leather 1940's wedgies with double straps and buckle...very comfy for swing dancing! the thing is i can't wear them much because i only have two brown dresses...oooh the heart ache! hee hee i guess i need to get to shopping for another one!
